Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

1. What Insy8 is

Insy8 is a merchant operations platform. It connects to Shopify and other services to sync customer, order, product, and inventory data into a shared workspace for merchant teams. By using Insy8, you agree to these terms.

2. Your account

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
  • One workspace per Shopify store unless otherwise agreed

3. What we do with your Shopify data

When you connect your Shopify store, you authorise Insy8 to read customer, order, product, and inventory data via the Shopify Admin API. We use this data to:

  • Populate your Insy8 workspace with your store's data
  • Keep that data up to date via webhooks and scheduled syncs
  • Enable your team to work with that data inside Insy8

We do not use your Shopify data for any other purpose, and we do not sell it.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Insy8 for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to access data belonging to other merchants
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the platform
  • Use the platform in a way that could damage, disable, or overburden our systems

5. Data and privacy

Your use of Insy8 is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms. As the merchant, you are the data controller for your customers' personal data. You are responsible for ensuring your use of Insy8 complies with applicable data protection laws.

6. Data processing agreement

Where Insy8 processes personal data on your behalf (including customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, and shipping/billing addresses synced from your Shopify store), Insy8 acts as a data processor and you act as the data controller. By using Insy8 you agree to the following data processing terms:

  • Purpose and scope. We process personal data only to provide the Insy8 service as described in these terms and our Privacy Policy. We will not process your customers' data for any other purpose without your instruction.
  • Confidentiality. Personnel authorised to process personal data are bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • Security. We apply the technical and organisational measures described in our Privacy Policy, including encryption at rest and in transit, access controls, and backup encryption.
  • Sub-processors. We use the following sub-processors: Amazon Web Services (application hosting, secrets management, email delivery, and private artifact storage, eu-north-1 Stockholm), Supabase (managed PostgreSQL database, eu-north-1 Stockholm, within the EU/EEA), Redis Inc. (background job broker, eu-north-1 Stockholm, no persistent customer profile store). We will notify you of any material changes to this list before they take effect.
  • Data subject rights. We will assist you, to the extent technically possible, in responding to requests from your customers to access, correct, or delete their personal data. Customer data access exports are delivered via a short-lived secure download link and are not transmitted through email bodies or stored in support logs. Contact info@insy8.com.
  • Deletion on termination. On termination of your account, or on receipt of a Shopify uninstall or privacy deletion request, we will delete Shopify-origin data from our systems. A limited exception applies where records must be retained for legal or accounting obligations; in those cases, customer-identifying fields are stripped. See our Privacy Policy for full detail.
  • Audit. We will make available information reasonably necessary to demonstrate compliance with these obligations upon written request.

7. Service availability

Insy8 runs on Amazon Web Services infrastructure designed for resilience: application containers are automatically monitored, restarted on failure, and served behind a load balancer spanning multiple availability zones. We aim to keep the service available and reliable.

We do not currently offer a formal uptime SLA or guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, release updates, or experience outages beyond our control. We will aim to give advance notice of planned downtime where possible.

8. Limitation of liability

Insy8 is provided as-is. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including loss of data, revenue, or business. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

You can stop using Insy8 at any time by disconnecting your store and deleting your account. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms. On termination, we will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will notify you by email before material changes take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
